I have "tried" to search on what I'm looking for, and I'm not even sure if I'm using the correct words!
In January I decided that I was going to run a Christmas Forum. It's different then the other Christmas Forums out there, when you come here, you are visiting the North Pole. Santa and the Elves and Mrs. Claus do a lot of posting and responding. The forum has been slow (which was expected) and now that I'm getting closer to Christmas I'm seeing an increase in traffic to the site. The "problem" I'm having is when people sign up they usually do one post and that is it. The bottom of my forum, there are hardly ANY posts there. I didn't set up my site. I had someone do it for me. So as far as changing the html and stuff, I'm really lost. Last week I decided I would put a clickable banner on my front page that would help direct people to forums in the site. I did manage to find where in the html to do that. I was VERY proud of myself! I also downloaded the hack where I can put a clickable banner on each forum, which I am going to use to "move" people to other forums on my site. I just think people either don't know about the other forums, or don't understand. Anyway, I was wondering if there was something you can put on your front page that will list the Top 5 Most Popular/Hottest Threads. I have not seen this done on a site before. But I would just like something when people visit they can see the thread, click on it and respond. I wouldn't mind "controlling" what threads will be shown on the front page (meaning if I have to change them myself, I'm cool with that). The link to my website is www.WelcomeToTheNorthPole.com If you have any suggestions as to what I could do, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Kris |
