When a moderator issues a warning / infraction, a PM is sent to the member to let them know they have an infraction. The PM contains the exact reason and message for the infraction. The member also receives an email letting them know they have received a PM and should go read it.
Our problem is that if the infraction required us to ban the member, the banned member no longer has access to PM's and cannot read why they were banned. This causes a lot of confusion and frustration. When we issue an infraction, we want to send an EMAIL (not a PM) that contains the infraction reason and message. We know where to modify the text in the Phrases, however, there doesn't seem to be anything we can do to get the email body text to reflect the correct Email Infraction message. I contacted vBulletin.com Support Forum and they provided the following: An Infraction doesn't send an email at all unless the PM system is turned off. Because the Infraction system uses the PM system as the method of communication, users will get the PM notification email rather than the Infraction Email. The only way to prevent this is to modify the code which isn't supported here - there may be a modification over at www.vbulletin.org that does this already. Is anyone aware of any modifications that would allow us to keep the PM system turned on AND still send an Infraction Email? |
