How to?
Been checking this around and just found 1 old thread. Mine is 3.8.4 vB board, usergroup supermod should be able to delete and add new users but without any other access to admin cp. Cannot find it through usergroups permissions and don't want them to be admin. New usergroup with limited admin CP access? or how to? Help please. ![]() |

AdminCP> Usergroups > Usergroup Manager > Super Mods
Scroll down to: Administrator Permissions Set to YES: then it will have a notice in red font saying to edit admin permissions |

Thanks a lot ChopSuey
Was a little tricky to figure it before, but thanks to your simple explanations was able to grant them limited access to ACP without promoting them to Admins. ![]() |

Make sure you allow AdminCP access to trustworthy users or you may find deleted accounts, and all sorts happen.

Yes, thanks guys for the warns.
These are supermods that were admins and were downgraded due to forum new organization, is trustworthy people, they've played nicely with the ACP when they were admins. The main reason why they need access is that they were taking care of eventual spammers signing up, deleting them accounts. They are not enough skilled to have access to the whole admincp and either fit the admin profile. My account among with owners accounts are not editable or changeable as I modified the config.php and they don't have access to the file  --------------- Added [DATE]1260122473[/DATE] at [TIME]1260122473[/TIME] --------------- And forget to say that gave them permissions only to 'Can Administer Users' |

Yes, just that only.
If you post in the Paid Services forum, you might be able to get an admin to help you. =) |

Thanks Speysider, didn't figured that...
One thing, as now supermods can access to modifiy users, they can easily change usergroups. For example, they can now change their status from SuperMods to Admin, I just tried that and this still give them acces to the same settings not to the whole control panel. Is there a way to restrict them to modify usergroups from a given user? --------------- Added [DATE]1260124724[/DATE] at [TIME]1260124724[/TIME] --------------- I've put the supermods on the list of UNDELETABLE / UNALTERABLE USERS so they wont be able to modify their profiles through the ACP, but still this is not the best as if I want to do some fast change I have to go trough the config.php... |

They can only modify usergroups if the "Can Administer Usergroups" option is set to yes.
You could just have them set as protected users, that's the best option =) |
