I set up my new forum (on an old - very popular domain name), a week ago. I haven't even released it to the public yet, so there are no real 'humans' on it. In the week, I have received 77 spambots, 992 spam advertisement posts (mostly porn), 315 spam advertisement threads (mostly porn).

What is the best modification that you guys use to keep the spam down?

We use Is Bot and it works great.
