question re: default template and adding google ads and sponsor ads

I just purchased vbulletin after spending about a month researching between vb, the "other" forum engine, and a free one. so far I've uploaded smilies, avatars, icons, and buttons to the default template. Now, what I want to work on is updating the template design. i want to be able to add google ads and be able to replace those google ads with sponsor ads as my forum becomes more mature. Can I use any template available in the templates forum and then install a mod for the ad portion or is there a template specifically for adding google and sponsor ads?
