Stopping mods from seeing private social groups

Why would you write software that would allow the mods to see all private social groups?

I have over 80 mods and I made the mistake of enabling the social groups.

Is there any way to stop mods from seeing, editing and doing just about anything to the social groups?

I assigned mods to specific areas.
To take care of their board.
