Group hooks not working

Hello,

My company just upgraded out vBulletin from 3.6.3 to 3.8.2 (it was an al night job... ). I'm working on some new plugins for Social Groups to tie it into our site, but have run into a snag. The hook's I'm planning on using are not being called for some reason and I'm stumped. The hooks I'm using are:

group_start_precheck
group_start_postcheck

Here's what I've checked so far:

1. The global plugin switch is turned on and other plugins are working in other areas of the site.

2. The individual plugins are Active and attached to the correct hooks.

3. I have simplified all the plugins to simply be an echo "<hook name>" and an exit immediately afterwards. Still no joy.

4. I did a print_r on the vBulletinHook.pluginlist after it is init()'d and every hook/plugin shows up except for the group hook/plugins

5. I opened up the database and did a select on the plugin table and the plugins are in the table and associated with the proper hooks.

6. I opened up the hooks_vbulletin.xml file and verified that the hook are registered under the groups type.

I've probably missed something, but I have no idea what. I'm heading home for the evening, but if anyone looks at this and has an idea I will be forever in your debt.
