I have a bad user on my forum that I have banned. However, every day he continues to spam me nasty emails via my site's generic "contact us" admin email link.
I have his email address. How do I block his address from being able to send me emails - or better yet - how do I autodump his emails in the garbage without my having to read them? |

Generally your e-mail server has a "spam" folder and a "mark as spam" option...
For example: I have my website e-mail forwarded to my gmail account... If I just mark it as spam, it considers all e-mails from that e-mail address as spam and deals with it accordingly. I'm sure most e-mail servers have a ban list as well. |

The issue is that the email "sender" is my admin account. In other words, vBulletin "forwards" all admin emails to my email server. I can't mark them as spam, because then my email server would block ALL emails from my web site. I receive plenty of legitimate emails every day - I just also happen to receive emails from this disgruntled user.
It is strange that a user with a banned account can still spam the site with emails. **EDIT** Never mind I figured it out. Even though Outlook was DISPLAYING the author as the site administrator, it actually kept the original email in the "sent" field. The solution was the most basic - of course Outlook just made it LOOK complicated. Thank god for Microsoft. |
