What is the advantage or disadvantage of moving my members primary user group? If I have a regestered member who wants a "gold subscription" is it better to move the primary usergroup or make it a secondary usergroup? If moved does it effect the registered member count?

That error is from a mod - some permission mod that you didn't completely uninstall. Make sure when you uninstall modifications, that you also remove all files you uploaded - like ones in the /xml directory.

I don't know that I have some definitive answer to your first question. I like having a Primary group and then adding permissions through Secondary groups. That just works best on my site. However, I do have a Primary group I have moved some users into that takes away permissions because you can't do that with a secondary group.
