How come I can never get the ads to show up for Google Adsense?

Does it take them time to show? Or do I forever have to see these gaps on my board?

If you have installed an ad blocking plugin for Firefox/etc, make sure you disable this.

I had this problem and i had Adblock Plus addon installed for firefox

after i turned it off my ads was showing
