How do you actually create an Extra option display page for profile field like this forum did?

The HTML for that section is in USERCP_SHELL. In addition to creating the link, you will need to create another PHP page to link to.

Yes, that is a good article on how to create your own page. It will get you started, but you'll have to add in all the php you will need for editing those fields.

okay. Ive managed to create a new php page and know where to create a link under the USERCP_SHELL.

But now how do i add the new page into display page option?
