Default Another.. Spammer Question

Like alot of forums im getting loads of spammers signing up and 99% of them are russian or rather they use russian email addys. I dont really want to do a mass IP ban as they are varrying so im wondering if its possible to stop people signing up with say *@*.ru

Is that possible?

I know i need to look into taking other steps to confuse the bots but i'm wondering about this option.

Cheers.

Admin CP > vBulletin Options > User Banning Options (May be in User Registration Options, don't exactly remember off the top of my head.)

Thanks Lyne for replying, i did know about the banning options im just not sure how i would go about banning the .ru range the examples dont esplain if wildcards are allowed..

Quote:
Email address ban lists: You may ban any email addresses from registering and posting. Type in the complete email address (user@example.com), or use a partial email address (as in @example.com).

Note that partial email addresses are matched from the end of the address unless you enable 'Aggressive Email Banning' below. Therefore if you ban @example.com you will ban user@example.com, but if you ban @example that user will not be banned. If you enable 'Aggressive Email Banning', user@example.com would be banned by @example.

If the email address of a user attempting to register or change their email address matches any of the addresses you specify here will see a no-permission error. For example, if you have banned 'example.com' then a user attempting to use 'someone@example.com' will be rejected.

Put a space between each email address or email address fragment.
So if anyone could disipher that id appreciate it.

I was having the same problem, Im using a 'custom question' on signup and its stopping 100% of spammers for 2 months now. I was getting about 50 spammers signing up a day.
