Can anyone tell me how to enable the date so it appears in the main thread listings like in the example below?

I am pretty sure that you can modify the threadbit to change that.

Try adding $post[postdate] and $post[posttime] in your Threadbit.

Not 100% sure, but give it a go and see

Threadbit template uses $thread not $post
$thread[lastpost] holds time of the last post but it's not formated.
