Default Changing the post view and the Welcome email.

Hi,

Ok, so me and some friends have been working on our forum for the last week, and it goes online tonight. I have 2 problems though, that i cant seem to figure out.

The first one is this: Whenever you enter a thread, it displays the posts as newest first and oldest last. I feel i have been looking everywhere to change this, but i cant seem to find out where that option is.

The second thing is the email that all user recive. Is it possible to edit this so i can write what i want? If so, where do i do this?

Thanks in advance. This forum has been loads and loads of help for us
Regards.

1. There are a couple places this can be changed. Check your UserCP, The Display options, and in the AdminCP under forum manager

2. Yes, I do beleive in the AdminCP -> User Registration Options -> Send Welcome Email there should be two links there. One to edit the email title, and one to edit the email body

Hi,

Thanks alot for your help. I edited the welcome email Thank you.

Regarding the post display though: I found it my user CP, but when a new user registers, he gets the default of "newest first."
I tried the forum manager, i tried going in the vB Options in every category i felt was related and i searched in the manual, but i cant find out where i set the default too be oldest first. It is really annoying that the forum is all backwards, hehe.

Thanks again

Go to your admincp>Forum Manager> Your Chosen Forum

and change the Default Sort Order to either Descending or Ascending

Make sure the default sort fields is set to Last Post Time

You need to do this for each forum

That works for me

Hi,

Thank you very much for your answer.
Allthough, that was the wrong option. It seems that ascending or decending only counts for the threads viewd in the forum. What i am after is the posts in the threads in the forums. All the new posts go on top of the old one, so the original post is in the back of the thread.

I tried changing the acsending/dicending thing, but the posts didnt show any differently.

Thank you again

vBulletin Options > User Registration Options > Default Registration Options

The last one is the thread display option. Set this to whatever you like. Current users, it's good that it sounds like there are only a couple, will have to change their settings.

Hi again,

That solved it. I went in on all my users and changed it manually. Good thing it was only like 20 people, hehe.

Thanks alot for your help! You guys have been lifesavers.
