First off, vb attachments seem to be working just fine. The problem I'm having is with my add-ons - I'm trying to get the developers of the add-ons to look into it. But I'm noticing that the add-ons which store attachments are having trouble creating thumbnails. Specifically, the uploaded image files are being stored with CHMOD permissions of 600.

Now, I'm not asking for help with the add-ons specifically, I'm simply hoping to find out if this is something vb is forcing, or if maybe the server could be doing it. The directories these files are being stored in are set to 777. And if I go in and set all files in those directories to 777, the thumbnails show up. But all new uploaded files get set to 600. Is there a config setting in vb or coding that makes this happen and would override other vb add-ons? This only just became a problem when I upgraded from 3.6.8 to 3.8.4.

The add-ons that are having this problem are vbgallery, vbadvanced dynamics, and the video directory remixed. As I said, I'm trying to get support from all the developers, but it seems as if there might be a common issue since they're all having trouble. Vbgallery has its own thumbnail setting, which is set for Imagemagick, just like the vb installation. The others seem to use the vb installation's thumbnail setting. I've tried switching it to GD but it doesn't help.

On my server, all attachments that were created are set to 644. So, my first guess is that this is not a vbulletin issue at all but a server issue. Have you asked your host about this at all?

I'm waiting on an answer from them, but it's a colo so I'm not sure they'll be willing to help. Thanks for your best guess.

My host came back and said that chmod should be handled by the script. So again, I wonder why add-ons that worked in 3.6 are having this trouble now.
