I have the advanced forum statistics mod on my forums, and one of the features I have turned on is the "hottest threads". I have the time cutoff set at 10 days.
What I am not understanding is threads that have hundreds of posts and over 1000 views, recent threads, suddenly disappear from this listing in favor of threads that have just over 100 views and 30 posts. Is there some sort of specific formula that vbulletin uses between thread views and posts to determine how hot a thread is? |

My guess would be that it is the most active threads over a specific period of time. Although some threads may have more views/posts overall, they're not necessarily the 'hottest' at any given time. I haven't investigated this, though.

You define hottest threads and posts in your Admin CP, you need to go back there and check out the function

Put your mouse over the icons at the bottom of forum display. Look at the tooltip.
