I run a board (http://forum.priorydejs.com) that runs on Yabb 2.2.1. Before purchasing vBulletin I would like to make sure the following:
1. Is there an official import support for the 2.2.1 version of Yabb? 2. My forum contains a lot of Devanagari script (Hindi script). Yabb 2.2.1 stores them internally in a peculiar format like [ch23456], basically storing the decimal equivalent of the Unicode hex value for the characters. Does the import utility of vBulletin take care of this too? I am more interested in importing all user posts and forums. So it does not matter if the mods specific to Yabb 2.2.1 does not get imported. Thanks |

Our import script ImpEx (free of charge to our customers) is currently verified against YaBB 2.1. Unless there are many database changes since that version, it should also work probably with 2.2. To be sure about this, please as at vB.com in vBulletin Impex Import System.
Yes it should be possible to convert those post, providing the database has been setup correctly before the import. |

Thanks a lot for the quick response. I shall take the rest of my queries to the link mentioned by you. However, it seems that I do not have permission to post in that forum, with another Id that I created. Anyways I shall find my way through the existing posts and see if this is already discussed there.
Thanks again! |

I thought unlicensed members (ie. those who have ot purchased a license yet) had permission to post in that specific forum. If i am wrong, then you could best ask in the Pre-Sales forum on vB.com where they can give a better answer on standard features.
