Check your cookie and path settings in the adminCP -> vBulletin Options -> Cookie Settings area

Yep, that should help you out.
Other than that, I know it's a common mistake for members to access your website first via http://yourwebsite.com and then http://www.yourwebsite.com, which can lead to them being asked to sign in again. You can use .htaccess to force the domain to include the www. (or not include it) by default. |

thank you --------------- Added [DATE]1222650926[/DATE] at [TIME]1222650926[/TIME] --------------- And sir my users sign in for like hundreds of times and still when they click forums from the main home page, they end up logged out in the forums. the redirection page after logging in shows up but then they somehow end up logged out. i have checked the cookies in the vbulletin options but i dont think there is a problem there. i am not using a custom link and everything is according to the book. is there any other suggestion? |

You can either always have the "www." or never have it. Depending on which you want - search Google for "yes www" or "no www".

Reset the cookie domain and path in your vBulletin Options. If this does not solve your problem then try the following:
To troubleshoot this, please remove any hacks and disable your plugins, then see if you still have this problem. Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true); If so, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. If your problem still exists, please create a new Style with no Parent set. Now browse the forum using this new style, do you still have the same problems? If you are troubleshooting login or guest issues, you will need to set this style as board default in the vBulletin Options. |
