I have a question: We're converting from SMF to vbulletin. We're also converting hosts in the process. We constantly get SMF error messages of "can't connect to the database". Is there anything I can do to the database prior to import to check it so the "can't connect..." errors don't move over in case there is an issue with the DB itself? We've had problems with godaddy so we don't know if the problem is with godaddy mysql servers or with the DB itself but I would like to resolve possible DB issues during my conversion.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide. Buster |

An error with the database will not cause "can't connect" errors.

Well I didn't think it would be wanted to ask ahead of time to be sure. Would this generally be then some type of bandwidth or poorly performing server issue. In other words, would type of things would prevent the connection.
Thanks! |
