Hi folks,
Im looking at upgrading my 3.6.8 to 3.6.11 - I am using a highly customised version of a completely different template though. I also have about 20+ active mods on my board. When I upgrade do I need to re-do all of my template customisations (bearing in mind Im not using the standard templates at all)? also, what about my mods - will I need to reinstall all of those as well? thanks! You will need to go though each of your modified templates and see if there were any added lines needed for 3.6.11 (like anything to do with the security token). I find it easiest to put up a test site and get the templates all correct and then export them so I can import them to my live site after I do the upgrade.

do you know if it works creating a test forum on the same server using the same database, or do I need to back it up and do a "fresh install" with the new 3.6.11? thanks! MOG |

You want to make a backup of your 'real' database and create a new test database for use on your test forum. If you use the 'real' database on your test site, then anything you do will affect your 'real' forums. This may help - Step by Step: Create a test forum based on a 'snapshot' of your live one
