I want to allow select members (chosen randomly at times) to enter a designated forum only, and not the rest of the forums. Purpose: discussion with mods about arising issues/conflicts in forum discussions to avoid banning them but amicably coming to a resolution respectfully.

Can someone please explain how I can go about doing this? I also want to disable their PM / email capability as well.

I think you could create a usergroup with only the permissions you want them to have, then move the selected users to that group. I think you'd also use Forum Permissions to make sure that user group has the permissions you want.

Thanks. Done that but now, how do I restrict them to only one specific thread in the forum?
