Hidden forums for all users except for specific usergroups?

I don't want to hide only its' content, but I would like to hide the forum from the index page too.

Did you look at the link Opserty posted? It tells you how to make the forum not visible to some groups. Or how to play with all sorts of permissions for the groups.

(What I like to do after I make a forum is go to the Forums Permissions view that is shown on the link and hit Deny All for the permissions. That gives no permissions to any group to do anything regarding that forum. Then click on the usergroup and grant permissions.)

i did that but forums are still visible in the index. They cannot see what's inside (posts etc.) and they can not post anything, but the forum name is still visible in the index!

How about vboptions > Forum Listings Display Options > Show Private Forums > No
