User-controlled (or usergroup-based) option to hide Recent Visitors? (3.7.2)

My apologies if this has already been discussed, but I've been unable to find an answer if one exists: does anybody know of a way to enable individual users to decide whether or not they want the "Recent Visitors" box displayed on their profile? I did see the mod that sets it such that only admin can see a person's Recent Visitors, but folks seem pretty divided on our forum as to whether or not they want this info displayed so I'd like to give them the ability to make that decision themselves if possible.
