Drop Down Menus Dissapeared

Morning,

We have a strange situation on our forums at the moment. All of our drop down menus have vanished, also the thread tools drop down options are now all displayed on the bottom of each post rather than being available via the normal drop down method on the first post, if that makes sense.

Our Search and Quick Links drop downs have dissapeared and been replaced by 'Mark Forums Read' and 'Open Buddy List'

Nothing has been changed in our settings.

I've cleared down my browser cache
I've repaired/optimised the tables
I've created a template with no parent called Fix and it's still the same on that, no drop downs.

Can anyone offer up any suggestions as to how we can get our Quick Links and Search drop down back, as well as the others for that matter.

Sorted.

Fixed the issue by setting the Default forum stle to the Fix template which has made everything reappear.

I've now set the forum default back and removed the Fix template and all is still working.

Can anyone explain to me why this happened and why the actions I've taken have resolved the issue please?
