Custom BB tag - make an image show up elsewhere, not in the original post

So, the title of this thread is a bit confusing. Let me explain.

We're using vBulletin as a CMS for our main page. A way for us to write news and have it posted on our main page all at the same time. To do this, we're using a mod called vBadvanced CMPS. You may or may not be familiar with it - hopefully that doesn't matter for what I am after.

What I would like to achieve with our system - is to be able to write the news in a thread and have it parsed and posted on the front page of our site. Using vBa CMPS does this already, swimmingly if I might add.

However, I'd like to be able to add an image to the original post that cannot be seen in the OP, but is seen on the front page. This way, I can have a small image used on the front page, and a larger image used inside of the post.

I'm thinking something like [imgfront] URL of image [/img front].

In addition to this, I need the front page to ignore all [img] tags and only show the custom one I'd make.

Is this possible with standard editing? I know I can make a custom BB code, but can I do one that acts as I'd like it to?

Any help on this would be really appreciated. As well, I'll do my best to answer any questions I can to help you help me if at all possible.
