Hot to add a forum-based setting?

Hi all. I'd like to add a specif setting for every forum, i have see that it is possible for the usergroup setting, but i haven't find how. Is there any options like for the vbulletin global setting?

I can (enabling debug mode) add easly options used and cached in all the forum, that i can chall with

$vbulletin->myoption 


Plus, i have see that some hacks add field to the usergroup setting, like Download II or the arcade system, i'd like to do the some thing with the forums, have for every forum this options

An option like $forum[mysetting]

I could be mistaken, but usually this is done through plugins. I would go through the plugins for the hacks you have listed above and try to copy the code they used to create your own options.
