Two useful hacks that can greatly assist when integrating VB with other third party scripts. I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with either of these two items.
(1) RSS feed of posts per user, e.g. the last 10 posts made by user xyz. It's helpfuly to have the last X number of posts by a user if they have a profile page. (2) Redirecting links from VB profile to another profile page. I've got this working for the dhtml dropdown when you're reading posts in the forum and there is the menu to find all a user's posts, see their profile etc. I'm trying to link the other two instances it appears which is in the forumbit (the user who started the thread) and also for the last poster in a thread. I need to fix these latter two. While I can derive the username of a post with a variable for the dhtml dropdown menu, I've noticed these last two examples are derived via some function in vbulletin and seems to be a php file. I'd prefer to replace the search string that is recreated with just a lead in to send the browser to www.mysite.com/username for their profile page. Strangely enough vbulletin retreives the username for the thread starter and the last poster but also builds a hyperlink with a search to "find" the last poster and the thread starter. Wondering if anyone has worked on either of these or interested in working with me on this. I've got it half done already and it works with other third party social networking software. |
