I am having a Joomla module put together which aims to display three types of forum data for my front page.

1. New Threads
2. Hot Topics
3. New Posts

Suggestions as to where to get this info from please.

-Is 'Hot Topic' based on the total post count?

-Where can i harvest this info from? DB Table, etc?

Hot Topic count is defined in the vbulletin options panel. Its probally stored in the "settings" table.
