I just purchased vBulletin and currently I am using SMF 2.0 which is in Beta. as far as I have been told the database portion in 2.0 isn't going to be changing, those parts are all set. I contacted support this morning but thought I would just ask here, would using the importer probably be a hard change to get it to work for 2.0? I hope this is the right place to post this, if not I apologize!! I also can get a clean database install of 2.0.

Create a test vBulletin and try importing your data with the latest SMF importer. If it works smoothly, you can then open it up in to the live environment. Make sure you backup your SMF database first.

Same here, although I let my scripts backup automatically ("Set it and forget it"

Well, gave it a try and there have been too many database changes in SMF 2.0. Is there one file of impex I can alter to put in the correct database names or is this a little more difficult then that?
Update: Just got an email saying they will have one out the first week of January!! |

That's good news for you.
A tip: I don't update anything live to a beta version as they may contain little nasties. |
