I've done a search and haven't seen this discussed here, but I've seen mods for closing threads after X amount of days.
Here's a scenario: Let's say a staff member wants to close a thread (for whatever reason). We'd use Thread Tools to close the thread and then we'd have to include a post as to why the thread is being closed. This can be a little tedious and redundant for the staff member who is closing the thread. A mod that would close the thread and allow the staff member to select a generic reply would surely cut down on the need of typing a full reason as to why the thread is being closed. Say the moderator is going to close a thread for abusive language...or some other reason. Once the moderator goes into Thread Tools and selects Close Thread, then clicks the Perform Action button, they would be re-directed to another screen that allows them to select a reason as to why the thread is being closed. Once they've made their selection and clicked Submit, the thread is closed and a final post is made, within the thread, explaining why the thread is being closed... This would eliminate the need of having to type a reason every single time a thread is closed. Generic replies could be included within this mod in the AdminCP, which would allow an admin to type up a generic response for several different scenarios:
Allowing the Admin to add categories as time goes on, to allow for those not already covered. To me...this would be the perfect mod for someone to develop...if it hasn't already been done. Hopefully, someone will see this thread and enlighten me... Thanks, in advance... |
