I'm setting up my first vBulletin forum.
http://www.madisonrcboats.org/forum/index.php I have several sections and in one of them, I would like to give access to only certain users. What I need to do to determine which users can access that one section is to verify their member number from a national organization. What would be really nice were if there were a way to get a field or two into the registration page that would allow a new member to enter that number as well as their full name. I could then verify their membership and give them access to that one section by assigning them to a Usergroup. As a workaround, I could send each registrant an email asking to email me the number, but I'd rather avoid that extra step. Does anyone have any suggestions on an efficient way to accomplish this? |

I think you can do this by creating an additional Profile Field via the User Profile Field Manager in the AdminCP. If you set it to say a text box and set the option "Field Required" to "No, but display at registration" you will have what you need. Never used this myself, so don't shoot me if i'm incorrect.
