Whats the easiest way to setup a usergroup that has limited access, specifically to only one forum instead for example, 40+ I have now?
Also, I only want them to be able to VIEW that single forum as well, not the rest I want to have a "resolution area" forum for members that are being rather troublesome and need to be dealt with in private with the moderator team. I want them to be able to view solely that forum only "Resolution Area" and also, view only the specific thread dedicated to discuss this specific member's behavior. |

Thanks. I accomplished everything I needed:
- limited access usergroup can only visibly see the member resolution forum - cannot access any other part of the site There is only one thing missing and I think this is more of custom work, but I'll ask anyway: allow the member in the limited access group to only be able to view one specific thread (created for them, where the discussion is made to resolve any issues with that particular member). I know this is far-fetched, but I don't think it should be impossible with some custom plugin (if not possible by vb default). |

If you mean that user can see only his/her thread in a forum, that requires custom coding.

Just use PMs if it's only going to be used to resolve issues with that specific member.
Or you can create a usergroup called Limited Access (or whatever you want to name it) and also create a category that only the Limited Access usergroup can view. When that person has an issue you can grant secondary membership to that person, create a thread to deal with what you're dealing with, and then when you're done you can withdraw the secondary membership to that usergroup. Seems like a lot to go through, but it's a strange request. |
