I missed what was said in the previous post, probably glad I missed it though. One thing I admire in my husband is that he's always proud to serve, even when it means protecting the rights and freedoms of people who abuse it. Most people do join for college money or stability, but it does go far beyond that once you're in. Our military men and women (past and present) are the reason why we are free today. I do believe that deserves a great deal of recognition and appreciation.

Thank you Brandi--not only for that but for being you and doing what you do.
My daughter's husband is in basic training for the Army right now, I am going to give her a link to your site. She could use some like minded young women to talk to. Thanks again. |

If you give me a first name, I'll keep an eye out for her and make sure she gets the proper welcome

Her name is Dawn and I told her to mention me if she decides to sign up.
She is also about 8 months pregnant with our first grandchild so we're putting her up while he's off getting trained. |

yep big shout to one and all - respect where its due.The Soldiers die for their country and the Politicians screw it up.
The Soldier Rupert Brooke If I should die, think only this of me: That there's some corner of a foreign field That is forever England. There shall be In that rich earth a richer dust concealed; A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware, Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam; A body of England's, breathing English air, Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home. And think, this heart, all evil shed away, A pulse in the eternal mind, no less Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given; Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day; And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness, In hearts at peace, under an English heaven. |
