How do I show usergroup "icons"/"badges" for different usergroups?

I know this is fairly popular on many boards, I used to do this about 3-4 years ago. But I cannot remember how.

Essentially, I want to have an image, icon, etc...displayed above the avatar in the postbit that represents a specific usergroup. I did this a while back and as I recall it was just a simple postbit (legacy btw) edit.

See post #3 for an example of the images I'd like to place above the avatars (and below the usernames), changing the image specific to the usergroup.

i think you can add some good ranks to do this .... if u mean about ranks than tell me and i can help you but i dont know what u mean about badge,.

Like if someone is a mod, then have this image displayed above their avatar.

If someone is an admin, have a different image displayed (one that specifies their usergroup).

yes thease are ranks .

Just choose ranks that you like and than upload in .

/public_html/Forums/images/ranks/

and than go in ACP/User Rank/Add New User Rank , and here just fill the path , thats it...

That was it, thanks man. I must have done this way before ranks was used in vb as I don't recall ever using a rank system (but rather a postbit template edit).

This is very similar to what I am looking for but I'm not sure that the ranks system would work. I don't want it based upon the number of posts but basically one that I can add or a member can add. It will be used to indicate how many of our actual vents they have physically attended. I already have the awards system added and that works great. I want to add an image under or above their Avatar though. I will create images for the number of events that they have intended. Has anybody seen anything like this? Would be great if it was user configurable so that they could pick the image with the number from a drop down box and add it themselves, sort of the same way they add an avatar.
