I understand with vBulletin that when you have a parent style then the child styles inherit what the parent has. The issue I have having is that when I go into my parent style and change a template that I also have in the child style the changes are not transferred to the child style. The changes are only made to the parent template. How do I set up the styles so that when I make a change in x template in the parent style that x template in the child style gets those same changes?
Thanks, Parker |

If you truely have a parent style with qa child style below it, it will show in the style chooser as having the child style indented in the dropdown list or in the style manager as the child style will also be indented.
If they are not then you can change the parenting by ... AdminCP > Style Manager > Edit Style Options (of the proposed child style) > Edit Settings > select your parent style in the "Parent Style" dropdown to designate it as the parent of your selected child style > click Save. |

Templates changes will only be inherited if the template is not modified in the child style.

Ok, I have the parent style with a certain text. I then have a child style with the same exact text. I then modify the parent style but the child style does not inherit the parent template changes. Does it matter that both the parent and the child styles are custom styles?

No, but as Dismounted stated, if the child style is customized independantly from the parent style then it may not update.
