Hi,
In my of my forums i have a small community, but they are extremely dedicated to the site, and they regularly upload pictures of their research. I have only 2000+ posts, but there are so many attachments that my database is already 150+MB in size, and lately we are noticing slow pageload of certain threads that have many attachments. Currently, attachments are being stored in database and we are considering to move them over to filesystem. I am very familiar how to move the attachments to filesystem, but before I move to that, I just wanted to double check, if someone has had any issues with attachments after the move/finalize. I am not having any issues so far in a test board, as everything seems to be going fine, so please leave your pros-cons if there are any.. I appreciate your time and I look forward to any replies. Regards, Val. |

We keep our attachments in the filesystem (over 5 GB). The one thing you do need to remember is that you need to back them up separately since they will no longer get backed up when you back up your database.
