F'ing simple register,login,logout externally?

I've literally spent the last 48 hours pulling my hair out over this and I can't find a single god damn answer to it anywhere in the forums (all the mods are outdated and don't work).

All I want to do is be able to add a new user to the vBulletin database, login and logout. I don't need anything else, I don't need to do any authentication as my registration script already does that. I just need to add the user to the database, and establish the cookies so they can login and logout.

I almost managed to get it setup manually until I found out about that $salt thing which is dynamically created.

Any ideas?
