We are currently hosting with Godaddy.com and ran into a slight problem.
The Mysql control panel will not let us restore a database larger than two megabytes! Are there any utilities I can use to restore my database? Moving to another hosting company is not an option right now. Why doesn't vBulletin have a restore function? |

Just upload your .sql Db via ftp, or do it remotely from cPanel into your Home Directory, then ask your Host to import it for you! Another way is using 'BigDump' script here:

GoDaddy is really the worst host that I've seen; they're great for domain names, but are not suited to handle anything more than basic websites.
When your database gets larger, it becomes more and more unsafe to use phpMyAdmin or any PHP-based backup scripts, as they tend to timeout - leaving you with an incomplete or corrupted backup. The same also applies to restores. As daPLAYBOY suggested, you could try BigDump; but I know that GoDaddy doesn't have cPanel. |
