I want to run a classifieds and some garage software , But I dont want to run it on my .com for storage and speed reasons , Insted I purchased a .net and would like to run them on it and buy another server the vbclassifieds and the vbgarge look like they will work for me if i can get the user names to work when they travel between the sites ?
Would I have to buy another vbulleting licence ? if i did could the members cookies be held as they pass from the .com to the .net site? Thanks DM |

Cookies will not pass from .com to .net, though I think you may be able to set them for both domains on login or registration. You'll probably need to code hack to do that, though. If you setup mysql to allow access from your additional servers' IP addresses, then you should be able to access your users and such without problem. One complication if you want to run vB-based applications from the same database on different domains is that the forum URL used as a base for most URLs will probably be wrong in some cases, though liberal use of redirects can hide this shortcoming.
