How to use Custom Settings ?

Hi!

I am looking for the way to use custom added settings.

E.g.: I have added a setting max_posts with value 50 in a new setting group called "Max Post Settings". Now I want to use the setting in a PHP script via the Hooks (plugins).

How do I do this ?
