This might fall on deaf ears but, so be it.
The functionality to build a content management system for vBulletin already exisit. I say this because if you think about what the system itself does, most of it is content management (forum threads, posts, categories, etc). If you want to build a good CMS that is compatitable and works well, don't look at outside systems, rather look at the internal code that vBulletin has to already do normal functions. All the functionality to build a powerful CMS is already there, it just needs a group of programmers to put it together, even the admincp has the exisit functionality to accomadate the new controls. Think about how you create posts, thread, categories. Think about how you manage to move posts from one forum to another, all that code could be modified to suit a new need. It could even be expanded further if people wanted. The point of this is just to let people know who might have the wrong idea about using vBulletin for a CMS, it has the capability, it always has, it just need someone to put it all together by taking some code and molding it with some small changes. The biggest headache might be the MySQL database but, even that could be done with exisit MySQL tables. |
