custom fields in calendar display

I'm trying to display custom fields in calendar events on the weekly view. Has anyone managed to do this yet? Essentially what i want is the text in the custom field displayed when viewing the event displayed on the week listing.

I've attached two images, the view of custom fields in the event view and the event in the week view.

I have two custom fields: Type of Event and Location which show corresponding info (first attachment). I want that information to show on the weekly view infront of the event title. That would lead to seeing 'Glasgow Gig Uncle Fritz in Glasgow' instead of what is there in the second attachment.

I've tried modifying the calendar_weekly_event template by inserting $customoption before the $eventtitle but that shows nothing.

Any help on this would be great. Ultimate i'd like to search the calendar by custom fields.

that only works for monthly view. A help on making it work for weekly views would be awsome please.
