Redirect page via .htaccess?

I've recently switched most of my pages from page1.php / page2.php to page.php?view=1 / page.php?view=2 etc.

Is there a way to delete page1.php / page2.php and have my server redirect those pages to the new URL without keeping those pages uploaded and having to add a meta redirect or something like that?
