Hi There

Sorry if I sound really dense but I've got a query

I run a board that occasionally will experience spikes (Its a sports forum and we can get very very busy during live events) Back in March our most users online were 943 and on Sunday we had around 600 online and people were getting a 'server busy' message (I personally didnt and others)

Anyway I spoke to my host and he said that the server load on Sunday was much greater than what we had back in March with more people on.

Im running VB 3.07 and the only changes I have made since March are installing the following hacks:

Enhanced Reputation Points
See Reputation Given
V Bookies
Ive also installed some custom skins but they are not active right now.

Would they be affecting it at all? I cant really see how to be honest. Any other factors? Number of posts on forum? Etc?

Anything is appreciated!

They would not really affect the load.

If your number of posts is much larger then other tables will be as well - adding up to an increased load on mysql. The biggest thing would be the number of concurrent users at any one time - this can drive load right up.
