Has anyone created a tutorial on creating custom styles? Something that shows you some options, what your capabilities are, etc.

If not, would someone like to?

i dont think there need to be tutrials for that

on ACP you got stylevars and Css just change the colors and you will see
how all site changes.

about adding pics and other ++++, you wil need to hack templates and adding the html info
to templates

Ok, so for example, say I want to make the background of certain elements transparent, so that the background image is visible through it. Is that something I can do in the stylevars, or do I have to edit a template?

Actually, I know I can make an entire element transparent. What I want to do is just make some of an element transparent. For example, in order to make the welcome panel transparent, I have to set both first and second alternating colors to transparent. Is there a way to just make those two specific cells transparent. Or alternately, designate a background image for just those two cells?

just look on admincp and you will find it
look for alt1 and alt2
its not that hard just look
see who things works..

No, I want to make not one alt cell or the other transparent, I want to make just one individual cell transparent.
