Ok, I put a new navigation bar up on my homepage, and I'm afraid google or other bots won't be able to find it.
The reason: (it calls on files, the links aren't actually in the page itself: here is the ony script in the page for the buttons ![]() <script type='text/javascript'> //HV Menu- by Ger Versluis (http://www.burmees.nl/) //Submitted to Dynamic Drive (http://www.dynamicdrive.com) //Visit http://www.dynamicdrive.com for this script and more function Go(){return} </script> <script type='text/javascript' src='exmplmenu_var.js'></script> <script type='text/javascript' src='menu_com.js'></script> <noscript>Your browser does not support script</noscript> As you can see it calls exmplemenu_var.js and menu_com.js. Inside exmplemenu_var.js is where I put all the links and its how I named the buttons. Why did I think google wont find it? I went to www.google.com and typed in muscle-mustangs. Then I clicked cached, when it went to the cached version of my site, the navigation bar didn't appear. Now I just changed that a few days ago, so I don't know if google scrolled my site while the navigation bar was down for a few min or if it just cant read the files... any help or suggestions??? BTW: in case your wondering the navigation bar is located up in the upper left corner of the site. |

As far as im aware vB will be able to use it, Im pretty sure it'll parse it all.

Just have a sitemap in your footer or something and have all the links in there and you'll be fine

Yeah, thats a great Ideal! Should I just do that on the main page then? I really don't want to clutter all my pages with that. I used to have one of them on everypage, but it got in the way. I don't think a few links on the bottom of the index page will be a prob though. |

It's one of the basics of search engine optimization to have an organised and concise site map made available on your homepage with a link (text if possible)
![]() e.g. <a href="gallery.php" title="A gallery for members of our site where they showcase their mustangs!">Gallery</a> I have made it habit to put descriptive rollovers on all links and images these days ![]() |
