Need help Badly

Since my host messed up, and went down i had been without a forum for a while, now it has been brought back up, and some of the templates in other styles i had have been messed up, so i had to piece together my forum, and now it looks a mess, take a look http://www.animexplosion.com/forums

Now i have decided i am gonna make a brand new design for me forums, lose the crappy banner i have now, and go for something a lot better, but one problem holding me back is the hacks i have installed and the effect they have on the forums templates, so how would i get around this and design something nice and new for my forums, also if anyone would be willing to help me out with this, it would be very much appreciated

Well, if you want to start fresh and remove all hacks, I'd re-install vB by uploading all your files from a fresh copy. From there, mod and hack your site as you see fit.

I had to do this with one of my installs. I had so many problems, I just decided to start from scratch.

One tip that will help you in the future. Use comment tags for everything that you do, so that you can always tell what belongs there and what was added. You can NEVER have enough comment tags.

it would probibly take me forever to do that, since i've added about 100 Hacks to my forums, plus members are pretty annoyed with all the downtime i have been having, thanks to my host and them messing up my forums.

You could remove all the hacks by uploading all the files from the vbulletin zip folder and deleating everything added tot he DB by hacks. but i dont recomned that.

ill take a look at my templates later today and see if i can give you the code to make what you want work

Well, if you're not going to start over, I'd suggest that you create a new template set. Your original one the users will continue to use as you work on the new set. When you're done with the new look, then you can release it.

Also, it'll give you a heads up on what hacks and template mods are not working without screwing up your current template.

thats what i'm doing now, i left the old style, and am making the new one, but it's pretty hard moving all the hacks, since i've installed around 100

Man, you're not kidding! I think that's one of the reasons that I've moved to using template mods whenever possible.

Good luck with it Ultimatess, I know you're in for a long hard road with that many hacks.
