I can't find a style I'm happy with, so, I am making graphical and code changes to a style that was close to what I want.
Header background changed, logo expanded to suit my wanted affect, status icons made to match new theme of style, background colors of input boxes changed, all similes replaced, and many other misc. changes.
The only thing remaining from the original style is the body background color and dimensions of header images.
At what point would it be exceptable to most designers for me to remove their footer text?
I do as soon as I install it after all it is installed on your forums
Thanks for your opinion. But, I do like to give credit for others work. I just feel that with the amount of changes I've made the style shows little resemblance to the original.
I want to remain in good standing within this community and I can't do that if by the standards set, I don't follow them.

On the other hand, they might not want their name on the style anymore after you bastardize it.
If you are no longer using ANY of the graphics from the original style it is safe to say you are no longer using the style. Graphics make the style unique. Anyone with cursory knowledge can edit templates or CSS.

My forte is graphics and my site mainly exists because it is my hobby. My style of choice is not available right now as I am waiting to have it updated for 4.2.
