I have created a new usergroup which has been running for a very long time now. The problem here is that users of this user group can't seem to post messages to other users' profiles via the 'visitor message' feature on 3.8.
Only when I am logged in as an Admin I can post these messages, but as a normal user I can't evens see the option for this on their page. The thing is that nothing is disabled. The option for this feature called 'visitor messages' is enabled. But I feel I am missing an option which isn't on this page that stopping it from working for regularly users of this usergroup. |

I see that you said that nothing is disabled, but just to make sure - you have set "Can Post Visitor Messages to Others' Profile" for that user group to "Yes"?

Yes, that's all been done but I think I found the problem. Under the 'default registration option' the box was unticked, so each member had to manuallty enable it from their CP. I've now ticked it so its enabled from the start. (its a bit tricky because many options can be found in different places in the admincp)
Although, I have another question. Now that most of my members have this disabled without knowing it, how can I ENABLE it all for them in one go? (Without having to go through each users profile and check that box?) |
