Instant Email Notification For Forum Subsctiptions

The forum I would like to setup requires a seemingly simple feature which doesn't exist.

When you go to a forum and drop down the forum tools options, you can subscribe to the forum, but the options for that only allow daily or weekly updates, unlike thread subscriptions which can be instant. The type of forum I want will need instant email notification of posts made in certain forums for subscribed users. They should also be subscribed to those forums by default upon registration.

Also when visiting the parent forum, there is no forum tools option to subscribe to all forums within the parent if "act as forum" isn't enabled. It isn't a necessity but would be nice.

I would appreciate any help you guys could offer.
